Type Locality: United States, Kansas, Trego Co., near Banner, about 1 mi. (1.5 km) from Castle Rock, bluff on Hackberry Creek.
Vernacular Names: Western Small-footed Myotis.
Distribution: S Alberta and Saskatchewan (Canada) south through E Colorado and W Kansas (USA).
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Formerly included in leibii (for which Hall [1981] used the name subulatus), but see van Zyll de Jong (1984). Does not include melanorhinus; see van Zyll de Jong (1984). Reviewed by Holloway and Barclay (2001), but note that they included melanorhinus as a subspecies of ciliolabrum .
