Murina (Murina) tubinaris Scully 1881, Proc. Zool. Soc. Lond., 1881: 200.
Type Locality: Pakistan, Kasmir, Gilgit.
Vernacular Names: Scully's Tube-nosed Bat.
Distribution: Pakistan, N India, Burma, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Subgenus Murina . Listed as a subspecies of huttoni by Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1951), but apparently distinct, see Hill (1963 a, 1983), Bates and Harrison (1997), Sinha (1999), and Hendrichsen et al. (2001 b). Koopman and Danforth (1989) suggested that tubinaris may be conspecific with suilla, but this has not been supported by recent authors.
