Scaptodrosophila latifoliacea sp. nov.

(Figs 3A–C, 8)

Diagnosis. This species resembles S. nigrolimbata Liu & Chen, 2018 in the pattern on the abdomen tergites, but can be distinguished from it by surstylus broadened dorsally (Fig. 8A, B); hypandrium inverted-triangle-shaped in ventral view, with a membrane medially in lateral view; pregonite with pubescence basally (Fig. 8C, D). This species exhibits the closest genetic affinity to S. curvata in light of divergence in COI barcodes (Table 2).

Description. Head (Fig. 3A): Frons yellowish brown. Pedicel yellowish brown. First flagellomere grayish. Facial carina hazel, short, 1/3 the length of face.

Thorax (Fig. 3B, C): Mesonotum yellowish brown. Scutellum hazel. Pleura yellowish brown.

Abdomen (Fig. 3B, C): Tergites II to V yellow with black caudal bands, the caudal bands on tergites II to V interrupted medially.

Male terminalia (Fig. 8): Epandrium with ca. 14 epandrial bristles near posterior and ventral margins per side. Surstylus with 15 peg-like surstylar teeth on caudal margins (Fig. 8A, B). Hypandrium with a pair of paramedian hypandrial bristle. Pregonite with 3 sensilla medially. Phallus lacking pubescence (Fig. 8C, D).
