(Figures 4a–d, 5b, 5f, 5j)

Diagnosis and remarks. This species was originally described as Epimelitta aureopilis Fisher, 1953 . This species can be separated from congeners by the elytra shorter, extending to about base of abdominal segment I, broadly rounded apically; metatibiae with dense brush of suberect setae; and genae about 1/2 as long as lower eye lobe. In male specimens examined, the eyes are narrowly separated in front by about 7 ommatidia, while in females they are widely separated by more than 20 ommatidia, or about 2/3 width of an eye lobe. Antennomeres VI –XI of both sexes with small, indistinct sensory pores on dorsal and ventral surface of each antennomere (not reported in original description). This species was described from 13 male specimens from Mexico (Veracruz).
