Type data. Ex rats, Indonesia, Sulawesi Is., Macassar, Lampong District .

Hosts. RODENTIA: Bandicota bengalensis, Rattus norvegicus, R. tanezumi; PRIMATES: Homo sapiens .

Distribution. Burma, India, Indonesia, Vietnam.

Remarks. Schoengastia cantonensis Liang, Lo and Hwang, 1957 was listed as a synonym of S. pseudoschuffneri by Chen & Hsu (1958a) and recently by Chau et al. (2007) (with a wrong authorship). However the former species is considered as separate by Nadchatram et al. (1980), Wen & Zhao (1984), and Li et al. (1997).
