Type deposition. L. imphalum imphalum: BMNH (not found); L. imphalum ceylonicum: SAM; L. imphalum sabahense: IMR; L. chiangraiensis: USNM.
Type data. L. imphalum: ex Rattus tanezumi (syn. Rattus flavipectus yunnanensis), India, Assam State, Stilwell Road, 21 mile mark; L. imphalum ceylonicum: ex bandicoot rat, Ceylon, Colombo District; L. imphalum sabahense: free larva on grass, Malaysia, Sabah State, Sook Keningau, 31 mile sign; L. chiangraiensis: ex Rattus losea, Thailand, Chiang Rai Province, Mae Chan District, Ban Pa Cook.
Hosts. RODENTIA: Apodemus agrarius, Bandicota indica, Berylmys bowersi, Mus caroli, Mus musculus, Rattus andamanensis, R. argentiventer, R. exulans, R. losea, R. nitidus, R. norvegicus, R. rattus, R. tanezumi; SORICOMORPHA: Crocidura attenuata, C. suaveolens, Suncus murinus; ERINACEOMORPHA: Hylomys suillus; SCANDENTIA: Dendrogale melanura, Tupaia glis; AVES: Aves gen. sp.
Distribution. Burma, Ceylon, China, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Taiwan, Thailand.
Remarks. Holotype of L. imphalum was not found in BMNH and IMR by Tanskul & Linthicum (1999); I also did not find the holotype during my revision of the BMNH chigger collection in 2019 and MHNG chigger collection in 2018.
