DISTRIBUTION: S Veracruz and S Oaxaca (Mexico) east of Isthmus of Tehuantepec to Colombia west of the Rio Cauca and Ecuador west of the Andes to the Gulf of Guayaquil.

STATUS: CITES - Appendix I; U.S. ESA - Endangered; IUCN - Vulnerable.

SYNONYMS: dowii.
