Pteranabropsis rehni (Griffini, 1909) n. comb.

(Figs. 4)

Type data. ♂. Congo Belge, currently Democratic Republic of the Congo (MRAC) .

Comments. A new combination is proposed for Anabropsis rehni Griffini, 1909 . After reviewing the male type specimen (Fig. 4), it was confirmed that it meets the diagnostic characteristics mentioned for the subgenus Pteranabropsis . This species was originally described in Anabropsis, and its status has remained in doubt, since superficially it could belong to Alata group. Pteranabropsis rehni n. comb. was described form Congo Belge, currently Democratic Republic of the Congo. This species resembles the Asian species Pteranabropsis karnyi Wang, Liu & Li, 2015, and Pteranabropsis tenchongensis Wang, Liu & Li, 2015, in both the notch structure of the male subgenital plate and the paraprocts (Fig. 4C). Possibly, the collection data are wrong and it is most likely that this unique specimen was found in Asia, where a great diversity of Pteranabropsis species have been described, and not Africa. Additionally, no other African speciemens have been reported since 1909.
