Zoogeographic element. European.

Distribution. Southern Europe (Italy, France, Balkan Peninsula), Central and Eastern Europe (Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Romania), northward to Sweden, eastward to Asia Minor.

Distribution in Romania. Epigeal records. Oraviţa (EQ58), Mehadia (FQ07) (all: Kuthy 1896); Mt. Cibin (KL75), Ciucaş (ML07) (all: Petri 1926). Hypogeal records. P. 6 din Valea Lupşei (2122/6) (FQ49), P. din Valea Pärului (2132/3) (FQ37) (all: Decou 1964; Decu et al. 2006) (Fig. 4).

Ecological status. Subtroglophile.
