M. phoebe almana Gaede, 1930

[TL: Syria, Elman Dagh], following Russell & Tennent (2016: 44, note 14) this name is a nomen nudum. It was described by Gaede as follows: ‘a pale race from North Syria similar to telona Fruhst. ’ (Translation). Although Gaede (1930: 208) attributed the name to Rebel (undated), no description by Rebel or anyone else has been found. Hesselbarth et al. (1995: 1031) suggested that it may have been a misspelling of amanica Rebel, but Gaede treated the names separately. As far as the authors are aware there has not been any illustration of “almana” and it was not mentioned by van Oorschot & Coutsis (2014).
