Distribution: Semi-cosmopolitan.
Records in Ecuador: Galápagos (Islas: Santa Cruz, Floreana, Fernandina), Esmeraldas (at road E10, 40 km SE from San Lorenzo city) , Imbabura (at road E10, 10 km SE from Lita city), Napo (45 km N from Puyo, CIPCA ( Centro de Investigación, Posgrado y Conservación de la Amazonía)) and Pastaza ( Puyo) .
Habitat: Isla Santa Cruz: near Los Gemelos, Scalesia forest, under Scalesia pedunculata, Chiococca alba, and Zanthoxylum fagara moist, decayed leaf litter. Isla Floreana: cultivated area in moist highland between Cerro Pajas and Asilo de la Paz; moist leaf litter and moss under Zanthoxylum fagara and Psidium guajava; dry to moist leaf litter and pieces of wood under Furcraea cubensis and Lantana camara; moist, well-decayed leaf litter and humus in Commelina diffusa under Scalesia pedunculata . Isla Fernandina: W part of the crater rim, under ferns Telypteris sp. and Pityrogramma calomelanus in fumarola; moist to wet, decayed fern litter. Litoral, arid, transition and moist zone. Natural ecosystem, leaf litter mixed with moss from the deciduous forest. Natural ecosystem, leaf litter from deciduous forest. Ruderal community in agricultural ecosystem, leaf litter. Urban ecosystem, under deciduous trees.
