Annectacarus unilateralis Hammer, 1973

Distribution: Tropical.

Records in Ecuador: Galápagos (Islas: Pinzón, Pinta, Isabela, Fernandina).

Habitat: Isla Pinzon: fern-sedge zone, in decayed litter and black humus. Isla Pinta: eastern slope of the main crater, Psychotria zone, in moist, deeper soil layers with roots. Isla Isabela, Volcán Alcedo; southwestern crater rim, Psychotria zone, in decayed fern litter of Preridium aquilinum; near fumarole, moss from rocks; Volcán Sierra Negra, transition to Scalesia zone on the southern slope, moist moss and fern litter on a dead trunk of Scalesia cordata with Peperomia sp.; under Sapindus saponaria, moist, decayed leaf litter between pieces of bark. Isla Fernandina: western part of the crater rim, in fumarole, wet fern litter and moss; Psychotria zone on western slope; in moist, decayed grass and fern litter from Pteridium aquilinum and Cyperus anderssonii .
