Promalactis Meyrick, 1908

Promalactis Meyrick, 1908 . Type species: Promalactis holozona Meyrick, 1908 The bigeminata species group. Species of the bigeminata group are characterized by the forewing having three white fasciae, and with dense grey and brown or blackish brown scales diffused from the outer margin of the postmedian fascia along dorsum and termen to apex; by the male genitalia lacking a gnathos; and by the female genitalia with a bilobed lamella postvaginalis. Species of this group are hardly distinguishable from one another superficially, but their genital structures are easily separable.

The bigeminata group is similar to the trilineata group superficially in the forewing having three white lines. It can be distinguished from the latter group by the forewing with the three white lines wider (termed as fasciae) and all running from the dorsum to the costal margin, the male genitalia lacking a gnathos, and the female genitalia with a bilobed lamella postvaginalis. In the trilineata group, only the postmedian line always runs to the costal margin, the gnathos of the male genitalia is present, and the lamella postvaginalis is complete.
