Remarks.

Metriocnemus (Metriocnemus) beringiensis may be no more than a small form of Metriocnemus (Metriocnemus) fuscipes (Meigen, 1818) differing in having a strongly reduced or absent anal point and slightly fewer setae on squama. Chinese specimens have fewer setae (R with 18-28, R1 with 18-20, R4+5 with 15-38 setae) on the wing than Norwegian specimens (R with 39-69, 55, R1 with 27-47, 36, R4+5 with 37-81, 59 setae) ( Sæther 1995).

Distribution.

The species is previously recorded from the Nearctic and Palaearctic regions (Ashe and O’Connor 2012). In China it was collected in Tibet in Oriental China for first time.
