PERILESTIDAE Fraser, 1957

Perilestidae is a small family of extremely thin and elongate damselflies; the abdomen is approximately twice the length of the wings. Adults perch on small branches and leaf tips in shade, hanging vertically with wings slightly spread or sometimes closed together. Their habitat is small, sluggish, forested streams. Six species occur in Ecuador. For generic identification, see Garrison et al. (2010).
