Xylophanes tersa tersa (Linnaeus, 1771)

General distribution. Canada to Argentina including the West Indies.

Distribution in the DR. Widespread throughout the country.

Habitat. The most generalist Xylophanes on the island, it flies in all biotopes and at all elevations.

Host plants. Rubiaceae, mainly in the genera Oldenlandia, Psychotria and Spermacoce .
