Manduca paphus (Cramer, 1779)
General distribution. Central and South America, including Jamaica and the Dominican Republic.
Distribution in the DR. Widespread throughout the country.
Habitat. The insect is more common in low-lying open areas, including semi-desert environments.
Host plants. Solanaceae and (exceptionally) Asteraceae .
Remarks. Previously referred to as Manduca sexta jamaicensis, this taxon was synonymized with Manduca paphus by Haxaire & Mielke (2020).
