Agrius cingulata (Fabricius, 1775)

General distribution. Canada to Argentina including the West Indies, Hawaii and Cape Verde.

Distribution in the DR. Widespread throughout the country.

Habitat. The species flies in all biotopes, forested or degraded, including the most anthropogenic ones.

Host plants. The caterpillar prefers Convolvulaceae . It is very common in sweet potato ( Ipomoea batatas) plantations.
