49. Elasmopus pectenicrus (Spence Bate, 1862) **

Syn.: Elasmopus serrula Walker, 1904; Maera pectenicrus Spence Bate, 1862

Regional records: Iraq: Salman 1998; Kuwait: Jones 1986; Saudi Arabia: Manokaran et al. 2021.

Habitat: Intertidal and subtidal zones; sand, mud, rocks, pebble, and shells.

** Taxonomic note: Myers & Momtazi (2015) questioned the records of E. pectenicrus from Iraq (Salman 1998) and Kuwait (Jones 1986) but considered these findings too poorly described to be allocated to later described and morphologically similar Elasmopus alkhiranensis . We include here this species with caution as requiring the further morphological revision.
