Type:— Lectotype (designated by Salmaki et al. 2012):— IRAN. prope Schiras in monte Kuh Delu, Kotschy 490 (G-BOIS!) ; Syntypes:— IRAN. Hab. ad rupes abscissas Persia australis, Olivier; Persia australis, Aucher-Eloy 974 et 2889; prope Schiras et in monte Kuh Delu, Th. Kotschy 345; ad ruinas Persepolis et in monte Kuh Eschker, Haussknecht s.n. (G, G-BOIS, LE, W) .

Collected materials (Fig. 1): — C10 Hakkari: Yüksekova-Kamışlı, Varegöz valley, rock crevices 1750–2000 m, 23.06.2007, Dirmenci 3911 (GAZI!); Varegöz valley, on limestone cliffs and rock crevices, 15.07.2014, Ö. Güner 2495 & Akçiçek (GAZI!).

Turkish name:— The Turkish name of S. benthamiana is proposed as “ varegöz deliçayı ”, according to the guidelines of Menemen et al. (2013).
