Newly recorded in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada as a whole (Fig. 1). In Canada recorded from Alberta west to QuĂ©bec (Campbell 1991b). Widespread in North America, predominantly in the east. Larvae are found in the subÂcortical region of dead (often standing or leaning) pines ( Pinus sp.) ( Pinaceae) and other conifers (Young 1991a).
