Type species: Brachypholis rothschildi Brenske, 1898; by monotypy.

Distribution: Ethiopian region.

Remark: The genus was originally described as a member of the tribe Leucopholini Burmeister, 1855 . Recently, Lacroix (2002) transferred it to the tribe Diplotaxini .
