A Palearctic species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Lagomorpha: Leporidae, but they have also been collected from Carnivora: Mustelidae . Adults and nymphs have been recovered from Mammalia (several orders); adults alone have been taken from Accipitriformes: Accipitridae and Strigiformes: Strigidae; nymphs and larvae have been recorded from Rodentia: Gliridae . Rhipicephalus pusillus is a rare parasite of humans.
