173. Haemaphysalis zumpti Hoogstraal and El Kammah, 1974 .

An Afrotropical species, all of whose parasitic stages have been found on Carnivora: Herpestidae and Hyaenidae, and Rodentia: Sciuridae; adults and nymphs have been collected from Carnivora: Viverridae; adults alone have been recovered from Carnivora (several orders). There are no records of Haemaphysalis zumpti causing human parasitism.
