An Afrotropical species whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla: Suidae; the undescribed nymph has also been collected from Suidae . Adults alone have been recovered from Artiodactyla: Bovidae, Carnivora: Viverridae, and Rodentia: Muridae . Rhipicephalus complanatus is a sporadic parasite of humans.
