22. Rhipicephalus distinctus Bedford, 1932 .
An Afrotropical species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Hyracoidea: Procaviidae, but all parasitic stages have also been collected from Lagomorpha: Leporidae, and Carnivora: Felidae; immature stages have been recovered from Rodentia: Muridae, Nesomyidae and Pedetidae, Macroscelidea: Macroscelididae, and Carnivora: Herpestidae . Rhipicephalus distinctus is a very rare parasite of humans.
