Redescriptions

M: Neumann (1908d), under the name Rhipicephalus cuneatus, a synonym of Rhipicephalus aurantiacus but see note below, Zumpt (1943b), Theiler (1947)

F: Zumpt (1943b), Theiler (1947)

Note: Walker et al. (2000) treat both Rhipicephalus aurantiacus and Rhipicephalus cuneatus as probable synonyms of Rhipicephalus ziemanni, but Camicas et al. (1998) and Guglielmone and Nava (2014) list Rhipicephalus cuneatus as a synonym of Rhipicephalus aurantiacus . Kolonin (2009) does not list Rhipicephalus aurantiacus as valid, nor do Walker et al. (2000). See also Rhipicephalus ziemanni for its confusion with Rhipicephalus aurantiacus .
