An Oriental species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Carnivora: Mustelidae and Viverridae, but they have also been collected from other Mammalia (several orders); adult ticks are common on Artiodactyla: Cervidae . Adults and nymphs have occasionally been recovered from Galliformes: Phasianidae; and adults alone have sometimes been found on Falconiformes: Falconidae, Passeriformes: Laniidae and Muscicapidae, and Squamata: Varanidae . Haemaphysalis lagrangei is a rare parasite of humans.
