83. Haemaphysalis kutchensis Hoogstraal and Trapido, 1963b .

An Oriental and Palearctic species whose adults and immature stages have been collected from Carnivora: Canidae, Rodentia: Muridae, and Passeriformes: Sylviidae; adults have been collected from Artiodactyla: Bovidae, Carnivora: Felidae and Hyaenidae, Lagomorpha: Leporidae, Galliformes: Phasianidae, Cuculiformes: Cuculidae, and Strigiformes: Strigidae; nymphs alone have been recovered from Passeriformes (several families). There are no records of Haemaphysalis kutchensis causing human parasitism.

Note: Camicas et al. (1998) list Haemaphysalis kutchensis as an Oriental species, but Filippova (1997) also recorded this taxon from the Palearctic Region.
