Note: Hoogstraal and Wassef (1973) state that the nymph of Haemaphysalis centropi, a synonym of Haemaphysalis doenitzi in Trapido et al. (1964a), is in fact a nymph of Haemaphysalis howlettti . Sames et al. (2008) suggest that more than one species may be included under the name Haemaphysalis doenitzi . Guglielmone et al. (2014) recognized the taxonomic problems attending Haemaphysalis doenitzi, stating that additional studies are needed to properly define this species and related taxa. See also Haemaphysalis pavlovskyi and Haemaphysalis phasiana for their proposed synonymy with Haemaphysalis doenitzi .
