66. Haemaphysalis hyracophila Hoogstraal, Walker and Neitz, 1971b .

An Afrotropical species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Hyracoidea: Procaviidae; nymphs and larvae have been recovered from Lagomorpha: Leporidae, Macroscelidea: Macroscelididae, and Rodentia: Muridae (Guglielmone et al. 2014, Horak et al. 2018). There are no records of Haemaphysalis hyracophila causing human parasitism.
