138. Haemaphysalis rugosa Santos Dias, 1956b .

An Afrotropical species whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla: Bovidae, but all parasitic stages have been collected from Carnivora: Herpestidae and Viverridae . Adults alone have been removed from Bovidae, while immature stages have been recovered from Lagomorpha: Leporidae, and Rodentia: Muridae . There are no records of Haemaphysalis rugosa causing human parasitism.
