An Oriental species whose adults are usually found on Carnivora: Felidae, but they have also been collected from Lagomorpha: Leporidae; nymphs have been recovered from Rodentia: Sciuridae, and Cuculiformes: Cuculidae . There are no records of Haemaphysalis silvafelis causing human parasitism.
