118. Haemaphysalis paraturturis Hoogstraal, Trapido and Rebello, 1963 .

An Oriental species whose adults have been found on Artiodactyla: Bovidae and Suidae, and Carnivora: Canidae, Felidae and Ursidae; immature stages have been collected from Rodentia: Muridae and Sciuridae, Soricomorpha: Soricidae, Cuculiformes: Cuculidae, and Passeriformes: Timaliidae . There are no records of Haemaphysalis paraturturis causing human parasitism.

Note: Hoogstraal et al. (1963) state that Nuttall and Warburton (1915) and Sharif (1928) confused Haemaphysalis paraturturis with Haemaphysalis intermedia, named as Haemaphysalis bispinosa intermedia .
