11. Dermacentor dissimilis Cooley, 1947 .

A Neotropical species in Guglielmone et al. (2014) but recently discovered also in the Nearctic portion of Mexico by Guzmán-Cornejo et al. (2016). All parasitic stages of Dermacentor dissimilis, including the undescribed larva, have mostly been found on Perissodactyla: Equidae . Adults alone have been collected from Carnivora: Canidae . There are no records of Dermacentor dissimilis causing human parasitism.
