N: Roberts (1953) under the name Aponomma decorosum, Roberts (1970) under the name Aponomma undatum Note: Kaufman (1972) and Kolonin (2009) treat Bothriocroton undatum as a synonym of Aponomma decorosum (Koch, 1867), but the former name is valid, as demonstrated by Roberts (1964a) and Santos Dias (1993), who included these species in the genus Aponomma . Schulze (1933a) redescribed the male and nymph of Bothriocroton undatum (as Aponomma undatum), but it is uncertain whether Schulze´s specimens are bona fide representatives of this taxon, as discussed in Guglielmone et al. (2017), and the redescriptions of Schulze (1933a) are therefore provisionally excluded from the lists above.
