An Afrotropical species whose adults are usually found on Carnivora: Felidae, Herpestidae and Viverridae, and Erinaceomorpha: Erinaceidae, but they have also been collected from Carnivora: Canidae and Mustelidae, Lagomorpha: Leporidae, Primates: Galagidae, and Rodentia: Muridae, Nesomyidae and Sciuridae . There are no records of Haemaphysalis camicasi causing human parasitism.
