21. Haemaphysalis calcarata Neumann, 1902 .

An Afrotropical species whose adults are usually found on Rodentia: Sciuridae; nymphs have been collected from Sciuridae, and Lagomorpha: Leporidae; and adults alone have been recovered from Carnivora: Felidae and Herpestidae . There are no records of Haemaphysalis calcarata causing human parasitism.
