27. Haemaphysalis caucasica Olenev, 1928 .
A Palearctic species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on
Lagomorpha: Leporidae but they have also been recovered from Galliformes: Phasianidae . Adults alone have been collected from Artiodactyla: Bovidae, and Carnivora: Canidae, Mustelidae and Ursidae; immature stages have been taken from Erinaceomorpha: Erinaceidae, Rodentia: Muridae, Passeriformes (several families), Bucerotiformes: Upupidae, Galliformes: Phasianidae, and Squamata: Lacertidae and Scincidae (Guglielmome et al. 2014, Tsapko 2017). Haemaphysalis caucasica is a very rare parasite of humans.
