68. Amblyomma lepidum Dönitz, 1909 .
Chiefly an Afrotropical species with a few records from the Palearctic Region, whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla: Bovidae, but all parasitic stages have been recovered from Bovidae; adults and nymphs have been collected from Mammalia (several orders), and Aves (several orders); larvae alone have been recovered from Columbiformes: Columbidae . Amblyomma lepidum is a rare parasite of humans.

Note: researchers have not explicitly reported problems in morphologically identifying Amblyomma lepidum, but Keirans (1985c) found five species of Amblyomma that had been confused with this taxon.
