An Oriental and Palearctic species, all of whose described parasitic stages are usually found on Lagomorpha: Ochotonidae, with records of nymphs and larvae on Rodentia: Cricetidae and Muridae, respectively. There are no records of Ixodes shahi causing human parasitism. M: unknown
