A Palearctic species whose females and nymphs have been found on Passeriformes: Prunellidae; females alone have been collected from Passeriformes (several families), and Falconiformes: Falconidae . There are no records of Ixodes semenovi causing human parasitism.

Note: Camicas et al. (1998) ignore the description of the nymph of Ixodes semenovi . Kolonin (2009) states that males of Ixodes semenovi have been found off-host, but we have been unable to locate any description of this stage.
