209. Ixodes sigelos Keirans, Clifford and Corwin, 1976 .
A Neotropical species, all of whose known parasitic stages are usually found on Rodentia: Cricetidae, but they have also been collected from Rodentia: Octodontidae, while nymphs alone have been collected from Rodentia: Abrocomidae and Muridae . There are no records of Ixodes sigelos causing human parasitism.

Note: Sánchez et al. (2010) state that more than one species may be included under the name Ixodes sigelos . Camicas et al. (1998) treat Ixodes sigelos as a probable synonym of Ixodes abrocomae, but both species are valid, as discussed in Guglielmone et al. (2010a). Nevertheless, the hypothesis of Camicas et al. (1998) has again been proposed by Muñoz-Leal et al. (2019).
