An Oriental species, all of whose parasitic stages have been found on
Scandentia: Tupaiidae; adults and immature stages have been found on Rodentia: Muridae, and Passeriformes: Pittidae; adults alone have been collected from Carnivora: Mephitidae, Mustelidae and Viverridae, and Passeriformes: Muscicapidae; nymphs alone have been recovered from Soricomorpha: Soricidae, and Rodentia: Sciuridae . Ixodes spinicoxalis is a very rare parasite of humans.
