220. Ixodes stilesi Neumann, 1911b .
A Neotropical species whose adults and nymphs are usually found on Artiodactyla: Cervidae, but one specimen of the undescribed larva was collected from Cervidae; nymphs alone have been recovered from Rodentia: Cricetidae (Guglielmone et al. 2014, Verdugo et al. 2016). There are no records of Ixodes stilesi causing human parasitism.
M: Guglielmone et al. (2006)
F: Neumann (1910a), under the name Ixodes elegans, preoccupied, and given its current name in Neumann (1911b)
N: Guglielmone et al. (2006)
L: undescribed

Note: Clifford et al. (1973) doubt the validity of Ixodes stilesi, but it is a good species. The redescription of the female of this tick in Guglielmone et al. (2006) contains errors that were amended in Guglielmone et al. (2007).
