233. Ixodes thomasae Arthur and Burrow, 1957 .

An Afrotropical species whose adults have been found on Mammalia (several orders), Cuculiformes: Cuculidae, and Passeriformes: Malaconotidae and Ploceidae; larvae have been collected from Soricomorpha: Soricidae . There are no records of Ixodes thomasae causing human parasitism.

Note: Kolonin (2009) states that the larva of Ixodes thomasae is undescribed, but Guglielmone et al. (2014) treat as provisionally valid the above statement in Morel (1976), a view also supported here.
