An Oriental species whose adults are usually found on Testudines: Testudinidae, with a very few records from Squamata: Pythonidae, Elapidae and Varanidae, and unconfirmed records from Mammalia . There are no bona fide records of Amblyomma clypeolatum causing human parasitism.
