A Nearctic species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Rodentia: Sciuridae . Adults alone have been collected from Rodentia: Erethizontidae, and nymphs alone have been recovered from Rodentia: Cricetidae . There are no records of Ixodes marmotae causing human parasitism.
