139. Ixodes matopi Spickett, Keirans, Norval and Clifford, 1981 .
An Afrotropical species, all of whose parasitic stages have been found on Artiodactyla: Bovidae; larvae and nymphs have been collected from Hyracoidea: Procaviidae, and Lagomorpha: Leporidae . There are no records of Ixodes matopi causing human parasitism.

Note: Spickett et al. (1981) explain that Ixodes matopi was originally misidentified as Ixodes neitzi by Clifford et al. (1977). Camicas et al. (1998) state that the nymph and larva of Ixodes matopi have not been described, but they were described in Spickett et al. (1981).
