An Afrotropical species whose females and the undescribed nymph have been found on Rodentia: Muridae, and Soricomorpha: Soricidae; females alone have been collected from Rodentia: Nesomyidae, and Macroscelidea: Macroscelididae . There are no records of Ixodes rhabdomysae causing human parasitism.
